Knight Enterprises Inc. is a Small Business specializing in Geologic & Environmental Engineering Solutions; Owned by Dr. Michael D. Knight and located in Honolulu, Hawaii. Dr. Knight has 20yrs+ of specialized consulting services and scientific research studies in Geological, Environmental, Hydrological (contaminate transport modeling), Geophysical (total-field magnetic and magnetic susceptibility anisotropy), Geotechnical (soils, rock failure, and slope stability), and Coastal Erosion Hazards Assessments. He has designed, planned and developed potable drinking-water wells and conducted groundwater monitoring programs throughout the Pacific to assess potential groundwater contamination point sources. He has conducted Remote Sensing/GIS and Detailed Field Studies (ground-truthing) of shorelines, wetlands, badland erosion, benthic marine habitats, and rockfall hazards.

Dr. Michael Knight has over 25 years of scientific research experience in geological sciences and over 20 years of professional experience in environmental earth sciences. He has managed numerous environmental, geological, geophysical (magnetic), hydrological, remote sensing and volcanological studies throughout Hawaii, the Pacific and Circum-Pacific. He has contributed in the planning, design, and implementation of numerous baseline studies for the National Oceanographic and Atmospheric Administration (NOAA), U.S. Geological Survey Water Resources Division, U.S. Environmental Protection Agency (EPA), U.S. Air Force Center for Environmental Excellence (AFCEE), U.S. Navy Environmental Restoration PACDIV, U.S. Army Corps of Engineers (USACE), Guam EPA, Commonwealth of the Northern Mariana Islands (CNMI) Department of Environmental Quality, and many Hawaii state regulatory agencies (e.g., DLNR, FWS, and DOH).

Dr. Knight has managed several large coral reef GIS-compatible mapping projects for NOAA including the U.S. Pacific Territories and Freely Associated Island Nations and the Main Eight Hawaiian Islands (MEHI). He has designed, planned and developed a potable drinking-water resource in Kona. He has conducted geological, geophysical, geo-engineering and remote sensing studies for water supply wells, wetlands, water tunnels, dam sites, military housing, and airport facilities at various sites in the United States, Guam, Tinian, Rota, Saipan and the Northern CNMI Islands, Wake Atoll, American Samoa, Federated States of Micronesia (Kosare), Japan, Okinawa, Philippines, Ecuador, New Zealand, Mexico, Christmas Island (Kiribati), and Indonesia.
